- Dojo etiquette
- Correct Dojo etiquette must be observed at all times i.e. bowing upon entering and leaving the Dojo. Correct respect should
be shown to both EKSK instructors and those of other organisations at all times. Respect for fellow members whatever grade
they may be must be demonstrated.
- Smoking and eating will not be permitted in the Dojo.
- Members should at all times make a personal effort to ensure that their do-gis are washed and pressed regularly.
- Fingernails and toenails must be cut regularly so as to prevent injury to other members.
- Articles of value should not be left in the changing rooms as the instructor and treasurer cannot be held responsible
for articles that are subsequently lost, damaged or stolen.
- Rings, watches, necklaces and other personal adornments must be removed prior to each training session as these items
are liable to cause injury to other members.
- Members train at their own risk. The instructor and treasurer will not accept any liability for any injuries incurred
whilst training.
- Lateness
Members are urged to arrive at least five minutes before the training session begins, allowing themselves
time to change. However, members who do arrive late should wait at the side seated in sei-za until the instructor indicates
that they are allowed to join the class.
- Grading
Any member who does not attend at least ¾ of the training session will not be allowed to grade.
- Termination of membership
Any member found using unnecessary violence against another club member (i.e. excessive use of bad language,
lack of self control etc.) or any member found to be of unsuitable character and likely to bring dishonour to the club and
principles and ideals of Karate-Do shall have their membership terminated immediately.
