Sensei A. E. Heywood  (Chief Instructor)
Sensei Heywood's karate career spans 5 decades.  He has trained under John van Weenen (Shotokan), Pete Spanton (Wado-Ryu), Sandashi Kato (Shotokan), Charles Mac (Shotokan), Kanazawa (Shotokan) and Tomiyama (Shito-ryu). Sensei Heywood trained with Seita Nagao and Kazuo Takahashi whilst in Japan.  His emphasis is on providing his students with a practical, workable and hollistic view of the martial arts. Sensei Heywood has studied in the past Judo and Kendo and continues to study Iaido and Hanbo.

D. J. McCormack
Sensei McCormack karate career began one summer's evening in Sensei Heywood's Enfield dojo.  The precept that to truely know a technique it must be learned correctly and then performed with kime 10,000 times was enforced through his early years.  On this foundation his interest was allowed to broaden to encompass some of the shorter range, grappling and weaponry martial arts. Sensei McCormack currently studying medicine at Guy's King's and St Thomas's Hospital Medical School and is the Captain of ULKC.  He has won numerous medals in tournament both nationally and abroad receiving Enfield Youth Achievement Award for his successes representing Enfield.
