Sensei A. E. Heywood (Chief
Instructor)
Sensei Heywood's karate career spans 5 decades. He has
trained under John van Weenen (Shotokan), Pete Spanton (Wado-Ryu), Sandashi Kato (Shotokan), Charles Mac (Shotokan),
Kanazawa (Shotokan) and Tomiyama (Shito-ryu). Sensei Heywood trained with Seita Nagao and Kazuo Takahashi whilst
in Japan. His emphasis is on providing his students with a practical, workable and hollistic view of the martial
arts. Sensei Heywood has studied in the past Judo and Kendo and continues to study Iaido and Hanbo.
